Well… not really blowing bubbles, but I’ve enjoyed learning how to trap bubbles in glass. Here I’ve used glass stringers (or straws) to trap air between two sheets of glass. I made the little grids first, by fusing the stringers together gently in the kiln. Then I put the fused grids on to a coloured piece of glass and sprinkled powder around the outside, before capping the designs with a clear piece of glass and firing them. I’ve treated myself to a new Morton cutting board and tools this week, using the money from some recent sales, especially my little Christmas trees. The Morton tools will help me to cut circles, and to make shapes, such as triangles and squares, faster and more evenly.
